This sounds like it might have more intell threads. Is there another shady group other than the Tal Shi'ar? I was think of a three way sting sort of story.
That sounds like a great plotline. I was thinking about futhering the scenario in which nothing is as it seems, requiring a great deal of analysis from the Intell guys. In the last story, I wanted to create a sense that Col Horn was losing his edge, partially because of his attachment to Alice. I think this would be a good place to where Horn has to make some tougher decisions that may cost him.
You left Sirsho'sim wide open for interpretation. Adrienne and I have embellished on what you started. We've got them kidnapping the LP crew. Thanks for the starting point 8-).
My daughter's (writing in her first 3F mission story) character got taken captive along with the rest of the LP crew, she's writing some scenes of the Sirsho'sim trying to convert the crew and her.
Got Colonel Horn and LCDR Mon'Teith liberating the crew while Stev, T'Aiya and the Tal Shiar go after the Sirsho'sim leadership.
Also establishing that Stev has received training to deal with the Sirsho'sim threat
I did up the first scene in which the personnel of the listening post vanish.
One of the creepy things we wanted to do with the Sirsho'sim was to give them somewhat of a hive mind - not quite the Borg, but almost united in thought. Their leader is something along the lines of the alter ego of the Vulcan matriarch.
We definitely are thinking along the same lines. I have the Sirsho'sim being akin to terrorist cells. i.e. The group responsible for kidnapping the LP crew is not the group overall. The leader of this cell claims to have Sirsho'sim scattered throughout the Federation and the Romulan Empire to boot.
Soon as we get the rescue scene written we'll shoot a copy off to you to make sure we got the character right.
Here's a blurb involving Stev - Let us know what you think
“Good evening, Lieutenant Stev.” She looked up into the man’s eyes and pursed her lips. She still didn’t quite know what to make of him after the last incident. Surely, his actions were logical despite the danger it posed to she and Alice McConnell. However, when she saw the smile on his face, a part of her wanted to wipe it off. With a raised eyebrow, she broke eye contact and looked straight ahead toward the hatch.
Unexpectedly, Stev turned to face rearward and T’Prel found herself increasingly uncomfortable. “Commander, how is your research on the lipatah going?” he asked.
“In consultation with my father, I have made the determination that the weapon is a conduit for psionic powers, channeling them with great intensity.”
Stev put a hand to his chin and cocked his head. “I see…. I’ve only seen unconfirmed rumors of things like this existing. It would make sense though. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more information.”
“Thank you. I would appreciate that.” Finally, she could stand it no longer. “Lieutenant, why are you facing the opposite direction? It defies all social custom.”
The turbolift came to a halt and the hatch opened. Stev took a step out the door. “Because, I like to think outside the box. Good evening, Commander,” he said as the hatch closed, cutting them off.
That's an interesting notion. If you write so that Stev, turns in the turbolift facing rearward to actually look at T'Prel that'd be more in character. Other than that suggestion, I love it.
